Pricing, Quotes & Payment
Compounded medications are custom-made, so pricing varies depending on the formulation, ingredients, strength, and quantity prescribed. Here's how it all works.
How Are Compounded Medications Priced?
Unlike commercial pharmacy products with a fixed shelf price, compounded medications are priced based on:
- Active pharmaceutical ingredients — the cost and quantity of each ingredient used
- Formulation complexity — a sterile injectable requires more controlled processes than a capsule
- Quantity prescribed — larger quantities often reduce the per-unit cost
- Packaging and labelling requirements
- Cold chain or special handling if applicable
How Do I Get a Price?
Step 1: Submit your prescription (or a copy) via our order form or email it to admin@customcompounding.com.au
Step 2: Our team will prepare a personalised quote and email it to you — typically within 1–2 business hours during operating hours.
Step 3: Review and approve your quote, then make payment to proceed.
We don't proceed with compounding until you've approved the price and payment has been received.
Payment Options
We accept:
- 💳 Credit and debit card (Visa, Mastercard)
- 🏦 Direct bank transfer (EFT)
- 💻 Secure online payment via our order portal
Payment is required before we begin compounding your order.
Is My Compounded Medication Covered by Medicare or Private Health?
- Medicare: Compounded medications are generally not covered by the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), as they are custom-made and not listed TGA-approved medicines.
- Private health insurance: Some extras cover policies may provide a partial rebate for compounded medications. Check directly with your insurer — we can provide a receipt with the relevant details.

- If an order error was made on our part, we will remake or refund in full
- If you change your mind before production begins, contact us immediately — we may be able to cancel before compounding starts
For any concerns about your order, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your medication.
