How to Submit Your Prescription
Before we can make your compounded medication, we need to receive a valid prescription from your doctor or authorised health practitioner. Here's exactly how to get it to us.
What Counts as a Valid Prescription?
Your prescription must:
- Be issued by a registered Australian medical practitioner, nurse practitioner, or dentist
- Include your full name, date of birth, and address
- Clearly state the medication name, strength, dose, and quantity
- Be signed and dated by your prescriber
- Not be expired (prescriptions are generally valid for 12 months; some Schedule 8 medications have shorter validity — your pharmacist will confirm)
4 Ways to Send Us Your Prescription
Option 1 — Photo via our website (fastest)
- Go to customcompounding.com.au
- Complete the fast-order form customcompounding.com.au/order-online/
- Upload a clear photo of your prescription when prompted
- Our pharmacist will verify it before processing
Option 2 — Email Send a clear photo or scan of your prescription to: 📧 admin@customcompounding.com.au Please include your name and phone number in the email.
Option 3 — eRx (Electronic Prescription) If your doctor has issued an electronic prescription, you'll receive a QR code or token by SMS or email. Simply forward that token to us by email or include it in your order form.
Option 4 — Post (original prescription) Some medications require the original paper prescription by law. Post to: 📮 Reply Paid 86714, Merrimac QLD 4226 (No stamp needed when using Reply Paid)
Tips for a Clear Prescription Photo
- Photograph in good lighting — no shadows across the script
- Ensure all four corners are visible
- Make sure the text is in focus and fully legible
- If handwritten, ensure the doctor's signature is visible
A blurry or incomplete image will delay your order while we follow up.
Do I Need to Send the Original?
For most compounded medications, a photograph or electronic copy is acceptable to start the process. However, Schedule 8 (controlled) medications require the original prescription to be received before dispensing. We'll notify you if this applies to your order.
What Happens After You Send It?
Our pharmacist team will review your prescription within 1 business hour during operating hours (Mon–Fri 8am–6pm). If anything needs clarifying, we'll contact you or your prescriber directly before proceeding.
